Description
A PAIR OF PORCELAIN GLAZED AND GOLD BOAR'S HEAD VASES (French, early 19th century) done after the work of Pierre Gouthiere (1740-1806). The pair of Vieux Paris porcelain vases are shaped in the form of horned drinking vessels (rhytons) covered in a malachite-colored glaze with ormolu boar heads and fruited swags on oval gilt bases. Metal inserts line the opening of the vases.
