A corner chair (American, c. 1880) made of ebonized wood and green velvet. The corner chair (“coin de feu”) features a concave back rest with willow carved decoration. The upholstery along the back, arm, and seat is chenille green velvet with embroidered flowers in the center of the seat. Neo-Greco turned legs with gilt incised details support the chair.
